LEADING EDGE™ For Entrepreneurs - FAQ

The program is fully virtual, with live interactive sessions conducted via Zoom. For Week 9, we offer a hybrid session (in-person and virtual) for those who wish to meet and celebrate in person.

All sessions are held on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Mountain Time).

Yes! All sessions are recorded and made available to participants within a few days of the session.

It’s recommended to allocate at least 3 hours per week outside of class for business planning and assignments. However, this is just a guideline—some participants may need less time, while others may require significantly more time to develop their plans depending on the complexity of their business.

  • Yes! We highly encourage you to utilize our FREE one-on-one business advisors. Advisors are available virtually and specialize in areas like finance, marketing, legal, and more.
  • No! While a business plan can help secure funding, this program is also ideal for businesses looking to create a step-by-step strategic plan to start or grow their business confidently.
  • You’ll complete a fundable business plan that can be presented to banks, investors, or other funding sources. Note: While this plan is a critical step, it doesn’t automatically qualify you for loans. Banks and other lenders may have additional criteria, such as creditworthiness, collateral, or financial history, that you’ll still need to meet. You’ll network with experts in marketing, finance, market research, legal, crowdfunding, city economic development, and more. For those not seeking funding, you’ll create a strategic plan to guide your business growth.

This program is best suited for individuals who already have a chosen business idea or are in the early stages of launching or growing their business.

LEADING EDGE™ is designed for all industries, including retail, service-based businesses, manufacturing, tech, and more. Our advisors and resources cater to a wide range of entrepreneurial needs.

No problem! All sessions are recorded, so you can catch up at your own convenience.

Along with live instruction, you’ll receive access to tools, templates, and resources to help with business planning, financial projections, marketing strategies, and more.

Class sizes are intentionally kept small to encourage interaction, personalized feedback, and networking opportunities.

Yes, participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion, a valuable addition to your business credentials.

Yes! You’ll still have access to SBDC resources, including one-on-one advising, workshops, and webinars, to support your ongoing business journey.
