Len Norten is the Director of the North Metro Denver Small Business Development Center located on the Westminster Campus of Front Range Community College. Len’s passion is helping small businesses thrive and be successful. After a 30 year career in the corporate sector in operational and financial leadership roles with American Airlines, John Deere, Cisco and American Express, he joined Performance Mobility in Colorado where he championed the growth plan increasing the business more than 500% in five years and being named Top Stage II Colorado Company to Watch. After selling the company, Len has been a small business consultant focusing on helping companies grow and improve their performance, along with teaching business courses at Front Range Community College as a part-time Instructor.
Len has been recognized as a thought leader in business and financial planning throughout his career and has served on a number of industry councils and nonprofit boards. He holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago where he was a Keller Scholar. He received a BS in Economics and Political Science from Northern Illinois University. When he’s away from work, Len loves to travel, play tennis and hike the beautiful trails of Colorado with his wife Trish, daughter Kelsey and mini-boxer pup, Skye.
Angela Atkinson has joined the North Metro Denver SBDC as their new Assistant Director.
Angela is a part-time Business Instructor at Front Range Community College and has a background in consulting to small businesses, nonprofits, and governmental entities.
Angela has held leadership positions with nonprofit organizations and owned a consulting business providing mentorship in marketing, research, strategic planning and leadership development in Southwest Colorado for more than 15 years.
Angela has been an active member of local governmental boards and councils throughout her career. She holds a BA in English from Montana State University and a Masters in Business Administration and Nonprofit Management from University of California Haas Graduate School of Business in Berkeley. She’s also studied abroad and volunteered with international organizations assisting refugees.
