Mon Cheri Bakery & Bistro

Baking for Cheri Spickard owner of Mon Cheri started as a young child in her grandmother’s kitchen. Cheri loved spending time in Grandma’s kitchen making biscuits and cookies using Grandma’s method of a pinch of this and a bit of that. She did not learn about recipes until age 13 when working with her mother in her mother’s catering business. No one on her mother’s team liked to make deserts so Cheri took out the Betty Crocker cookbook and started testing recipes. The rest is history.
One year ago, Cheri opened her first Mon Cheri an American Bistro and Bakery with a European influence on North Public Road in Lafayette. It was a dream come true. Since that time Mon Cheri has grown to 17 employees and is looking toward the possibly of opening another site in late 2019.

Cheri Spickard is the creator of all the fine goods found in the bakery. She feels she has combined the best of her Grandmother’s fair and her own style. In the past year, the restaurant has won several local business awards. The restaurant received the Yelp award for having between a four and five star average review, something given to only top performing businesses. Mom Cheri also received a “Neighborhood Favorite” award for being the best bakery in old town Lafayette (only 1-2% of businesses get this). Google recently recognized Cheri for having a five star rating.
