2nd Time Sports

2nd Time Sports is an affordable, fun place to shop for team sporting gear and snow sports.

Recently, the City of Northglenn honored 2nd Time Sports with the 2017 SMALL BUSINESS of the YEAR Award.

Chuck and Anita Adam’s business philosophy is to keep sports affordable for families, by keeping new prices competitive and offering gently used at discounted prices. Kids grow so fast that they really don’t “use up” the cleats, shoulder pads, helmets, etc. “If you are just getting started and are on a budget – buying used will save you money” states Coach Chuck. No longer do you need to trip over that outgrown equipment. Bring it to 2nd Time Sports.

They stock and sell new and used football, baseball, softball, wrestling, soccer, lacrosse and disc golf. They also have gently used hockey and golf equipment. Their apparel shop sells custom uniforms and do in store heat pressed names for existing jerseys.

2nd Time Sports, carries major brands like Schutt, Rawlings, and the up and coming Marucci line. Don’t let the casual atmosphere fool you, Coach Chuck has extensive experience in playing and coaching football, baseball, softball and basketball. He know sports and the equipment on the market, whether he sells it or not. “I can explain the difference in models and brands and features you get with each. Most big box stores do not have this kind of product expertise who can help with the customers questions”, states Coach Chuck. He is willing to spend as much time with you and your players to get fitted correctly with what you need, putting safety and comfort first.

For baseball and softball they have a batting cage to “try before you buy” so Chuck can evaluate the players swing to get just the right length and weight of bat needed. Then the player can choose which bat brand and style feels best for him or her.

Coach Chuck is an easy person to talk to. When you chat with him about sports and the value of the experience you can sense a feeling of caring. “As a coach, player and parent, I know the importance of proper equipment and how it affects the game.”

The personal service you get at 2nd Time sports is like no other in Colorado. Chuck and Anita don’t just “sell”, they take the time to get to know their customers. They’ll order in for them, do lay-a-ways and sometimes customers just come in to talk. Customer referrals is the major way people find out about 2nd Time Sports. They don’t advertise and they are hidden away on a side street. Nice selection of product, good prices, knowledgeable and nice people. Go check out the best kept secret for sports in Colorado.

The SBDC has helped us through classes on various business needs and meet with our lead consultant on a regular basis to go over financials, strategies and goals. The list of resources is long, however, I think even more important for us is the psychological support. We no longer stress if an issue comes up that we are not familiar with. We simply contact the SBDC and the wonderful people there will direct us to a resource to access. Now it’s exciting to learn a new skill and apply it to our company. Doesn’t mean it’s easy, however it keeps us interested in our company and focuses us on the next step.
